Why we started Rootcode Foundation?
Rootcode Foundation, our impact initiative is built on the belief that real transformation begins in schools. We are here because we learned technology at the right time and learning technology has changed all our lives. But not everyone gets the same opportunities, resources, or exposure. Through Rootcode Foundation, all of us at Rootcode are going to help underprivileged students in Sri Lanka learn technology and change their lives.
We also know that real change also takes time. Our vision extends far beyond one school and we will adopt one school for a year and commit for the whole year. Our Rootcoders will spend a day, once a month for a year to teach these kids technology.

How we made a difference
- We committed an entire year to a school visiting every other week to teach children all about technology.
- We conducted comprehensive teacher training, equipping them with the technical knowledge to build upon our efforts in the years to come.
- We initiated a scholarship fund, and our generous Rootcoders joined hands to support deserving students to achieve their dreams.
- We built a modern computer lab consisting of essential resources to enhance the learning environment.
